Garry Kasparov is a resigned chess grandmaster and previous World Chess Champion. He is honored and viewed as the best chess player in the universe of constantly. Kasparov was brought into the world in Baku, Azerbaijan (then a piece of the Soviet Association) in 1963. He started playing chess very early in life and immediately rose through the positions of the Soviet chess scene. In 1985, at 22 years old, he turned into the most youthful World Chess Champion in history by overcoming Anatoly Karpov. Kasparov held the title until 2000 when he lost a rematch to Karpov. He resigned from proficient chess in 2005 and has remained active in the chess world as a commentator, writer, and coach.
